History of New Life Holiness Church

The N.C.C. Mission Church/New Life opened its doors on July 11, 1999, with 27 members.
The church began when the women in the community encouraged Elder Frederick Smith to start having services in the Robinhood Apartment Complex. Dr. JoeAnn Ballard, Executive Director of the Neighborhood Christian Centers, Inc., allowed services to be held at the Robinhood Center. The members are mostly composed of single-parent homes.

In April of 1999, N.C.C. Mission Church/ New Life Holiness were given a building by Dr. Ballard and Dr. Johnson. The first service held in the new facility was on an Easter Sunday.Since that time, we have been blessed to purchase an even larger facility. More members have joined and the church has grown to over 450 members.

Over the years, the church has expanded its worship opportunities to include Sunday school, Sunday night service, Wednesday Bible study, Friday Night worship and 6:00am and Noon-Day Prayer daily.

Elder Smith has performed over fifty-five weddings for couples at our church and has others scheduled.Elder Smith has also baptized over 300 members to date. This ministry has fed hundreds of families also distributes over 200 Christmas baskets. We have added children and youth ministry programs, prison ministry, street/witnessing ministry, Build A Wall and several organizations, such as Women’s Christian Council and after school program.

Our church is a Blessed Church. Our pastor’s wife, Lady Tina Smith, has a special love in her heart for all children. Lady Smith works diligently with the women’s dept and prayer ministry and leads prayer daily at noon. She enthusiastically plans a full Summer Camp Program for children, mostly underprivileged ages 5-16. She encourages all children from the surrounding neighborhood and community to be involved, not just the children of New Life.

New Life would not have been possible without the help of all the wonderful people who have contributed their time and prayers.
